Travel Directions

From Sydney (Federal Hwy)

Following are instructions to locate the hotel if you are travelling from Sydney to Canberra along the Federal Highway.

  • Travelling from Sydney you will enter Canberra on the Federal Highway. The Federal Highway becomes Northbourne Ave
  • Follow Northbourne Avenue through the city, straight through Vernon Circle and across lake Burley Griffin, Road becomes Commonwealth Ave (Parliament House is straight ahead)
  • Get in left lane, veer left at sign for Cooma
  • Again veer left onto Canberra Ave (sign to Manuka, great Restaurants) and follow Canberra Avenue down through two sets of traffic lights until you get to a large round about.
  • Turn right onto Sturt Avenue.
  • Sturt Avenue becomes Jerrabomberra Avenue. Continue to follow this street for approximately three kilometres.
  • We will be located on your left just opposite the Capital Golf Course.

 

 

 

From Melbourne (Barton Hwy)

Following are instructions to locate the hotel if you are travelling from Melbourne into Canberra on the Barton Highway

  • Entering Canberra on the Barton Highway, keep an eye out for 'Cockington Green', the 'Dinosaur Museum' and 'George Harcourt Hotel' (all worth a visit) on the left after passing Hall
  • Follow the Barton Highway to the end turning right onto Northbourne Ave (signs to the City Centre)
  • Follow Northbourne Avenue through the city, straight through Vernon Circle and across lake Burley Griffin, Road becomes Commonwealth Ave (Parliament House is straight ahead)
  • Get in left lane, veer left at sign for Cooma
  • Again veer left onto Canberra Ave (signs to Manuka and Kingston for great Restaurants) and follow Canberra Avenue down through two sets of traffic lights until you get to a large roundabout.
  • Turn right onto Sturt Avenue.
  • Sturt Avenue becomes Jerrabomberra Avenue. Continue to follow this street for approximately three kilometres.
  • We will be located on your left just opposite the Capital Golf Course.

 

 

 

 

From Canberra Airport

Following are instructions to locate the hotel coming from the Canberra International Airport

  • Turn right out of the Airport onto Pialligo Ave (signs to the City Center)
  • Turn left at roundabout onto Monaro Highway (signs to Fyshwick)
  • Staying on the Monaro Highway you will pass over Canberra Ave, just after this veer into the left lane
  • This road will take you to the intersection of Hindmarsh Drive
  • Turn right onto Hindmarsh Drive
  • At the second set of lights turn right onto Jerrabomberra Ave
  • Garden City Motel is located 50 metres on you right, opposite the capital Golf Course

 

 

 

 

 

From Cooma (Monaro Hwy)

Following are instructions to locate the hotel if you are travelling from Cooma into Canberra along the Monaro Highway.

  • Exit left off the Monaro Highway onto Hindmarsh Drive
  • Follow Hindmarsh Drive for approximately 1-2 kilometres.
  • Turn right onto Jerrabomberra Avenue
  • The hotel will be located on your right directly opposite the Capital Golf Course

 

 

 

 

From Bateman's Bay (Kings Hwy)

Following are instructions to locate the hotel if you are travelling from the South Coast (Batemans Bay) into Canberra along the Kings Highway.

  • From Bungendore turn left onto Bungendore Highway toward Queanbeyan
  • When you reach Queanbeyan head straight through toward Canberra along Canberra Avenue
  • Turn left onto Hindmarsh Drive
  • Turn right onto Jerrabomberra Avenue
